Statement from the Chairman of the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce about legal against funding of Black-Owned Businesses.

Statement from the Chairman of the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce about legal against funding of Black-Owned Businesses.

In a continued assault against affirmative action, Hello Alice and Fearless Fund are being sued for providing grants to Black-owned businesses. In this disturbing trend, legal action has also been taken against programs that benefit other Minority-owned businesses, such as Native American, Latino, and US Veterans. These lawsuits are using the Civil Rights Act of 1886 as a weapon to further deteriorate the unstable economic ground where Black-owned businesses struggle to gain a foothold. The Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce stands with Fearless Fund, Hello Alice, and similar organizations providing vital opportunities and support for the socially and economically disadvantaged.
